Laney Chantal dead at 33
0Laney Chantal, a celebrity cosmetic artist and former reality TV personality, passed away this week at the age of 33 after accidentally overdosing on drugs.
In a public obituary, her family stated that Chantal, whose true name is Alaina Chantal Parkhurst, passed away on Monday in Milford, Michigan, and that she had "struggled with various mental illnesses throughout her adult life."
Chantal, a well-known FX makeup artist and mask designer, sprang to fame after participating in the fifth season of the SyFy Network competition series "Face Off" in 2013. She was fifth when she willingly left the reality programme about makeup artists for special effects.
After she appeared on the show, Chantal collaborated with a number of well-known celebrities, including Bella Thorne and Marilyn Manson. She even created the "Head FX Makeup" for rapper Lil Nas X's divisive music video "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" in 2021, which won the MTV VMA for Video of the Year.
