In remembrance of my friend and colleague Larry Tesler, UX pioneer, and inventor of Cut and Paste.

Larry UX pioneer who helped invent the graphical user interfaces we all use today when he was at Xerox PARC. He gave the demo to Steve Jobs that convinced Jobs to build the Lisa, then the Mac (and to poach Larry), and headed research at Apple for many years. Larry was a staunch advocate for UX design — his license plate read NO MODES, a sentiment I wholeheartedly agree with.

Here's Larry's talk on how he invented Cut and Paste, titled Designing for 6x10^9 Users. We take it these commands for granted, but in its time it was a clever a solution to a problem that had previously required a mode.
