LASIK/PRK Surgery Experience | My Journey to 20/20 Vision Vlog with Post-Surgery/Post-Op Thoughts
Hi, for those who do not know me my name is Chicknfit (Chickn for short). I'm a YouTuber, Variety Gamer, Partner for Pokemon Masters EX, and outside of these a science teacher. I am 32 years old and have worn glasses for over 20+ years of my life. I've been asked plenty of times from my parents if I'd like to make the decision to have LASIK surgery. The thought crossed my mind every about making the decision in the last few years. And just recently, on July 31st, 2023, I boldly took the step to have eye surgery.
To my known audience and community: this type of video isn't Pokemon Masters or anything but if this intrigues you about what happened to my glasses for quite some time now, I hope my journey through this video captivates a different perspective.
In this video I discuss the following:
0:00 Introduction
2:08 Day 1 The Surgery
3:10 Day 2
4:25 Day 3-4
4:32 Day 5
5:09 I can drive
7:26 1 week later
7:39 Medication
9:48 20/20 Vision
10:10 How I'm feeling now
Here is a short, detailed list of the months of eye drop medications and dates as described in the video:
Sept. 27, 2023
Stopped using Sinbrinza Sept. 13th ran out in the afternoon
After about a month, I stopped using the oflaxacin. Just Dexamethasone and Sinbrinza. I can wet my eyes a bit when I’m showering (I still close them just in case).
Saw the doctor and continued to use Sinbrinza and three drops.
October 13, 2023
Doctor said to drop down to 2 drops with the dexamethasone. Still take Sinbrinza twice a day.
October 27, 2023
Doctor said to cut down to only 1 drop of the dexamethasone and 1 drop of the sinbrinza. Lovely!
November 15, 2023
I was told that after getting my post-appointment, I have 20/20 vision. The doctor said I graduated and I can stop using both prescribed eyedrops! She told me to continue wearing my sunglasses for about a year. In a year, I will see the doctor again.
For further questions, I'd be happy to read what you'd like to know in the comments regarding this decision. I'll try to answer as much questions about the surgery as possible.
