In Lasso, the player controls a cowboy in the task of bringing herds of sheep, cows and horses back to the corral from which they have escaped with his lasso. The player start the game with warm-up scene.
An animal can be captured at a certain distance by holding down the button to lengthen the rope thrown by the cowboy, and releasing it so as to create a circle, if this circle surrounds at least two animals the player gets more points.

Every scene is made challenging by the presence of two enemies, which can be eliminated by the player by throwing infinite stone shots by pressing a second button.
They are wolves and what appear to be frogs. Wolves attack in packs, they enter the field one at a time and constantly chase the cowboy, frogs emerge from wells and spray poisonous gas at him.
A wolf occasionally brings an animal that has already been captured back to the field. Touching them means losing one of the available lives, which if they run out the game ends. But if you shoot the wolf before you get a lot a points.

Finally, it is not mandatory for the player to put the cattle back into the corral, because a level is completed even if he kills all the wolves.
