Yuki is one of the few characters within it to not originate from Japan. She is abstractly symbolized by the image of falling snowflakes, and her official slogan is "Anxious White" (運命うんめいを貫つらぬく槍やり, lit. Fate-Penetrating Spear).
Her name, "Yuki", means "snow" in Japanese.
Her circumstances of being adopted as a child from a disastrous shipwreck that killed her parents is similar to a later Samurai Shodown character, Suzuhime. In further coincidence, both have non-Japanese lineage (Yuki being of Russian heritage, and Suzuhime of possible American-European heritage).
