Golden Axe 3 - Sega Mega Drive - last boss & bad end
1Damud Hellstrike, the Prince of Darkness, has taken away the Golden Axe and put an evil curse over all the warriors. However, one of the heroes has their curse relieved and is sent to set things straight – lift the curse off the others, defeat the villain and return with the Golden Axe.
A North American version was released only for the Sega Channel.
Kain Grinder and Sarah Burn are referred to as Ax Battler and Tyris Flare respectively in the Sega Channel localization of the game.
Golden Axe 3 features a secret formula for determining whether you get the good ending or bad ending.
There are 2 factors involved in determining whether you fight the second form of the final boss and a chance to get the good ending:
A) the number of continues remaining after defeating the first form of the final boss (you start the game with 4 continues)
B) the number of possessed main characters defeated during your playthrough.
The formula works like this: if A + B is greater than or equal to 4, you get to fight the second form of the final boss.
