♫LAST BOSS (Final Fantasy MQ) 8-bit NES Arrangement - NintendoComplete
This is my arrangement of the last boss theme from Square's 1992 SNES RPG, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. I have arranged it for native playback on NES hardware, and the audio was recorded directly from a US NES console.
It was written for the VRC6 expansion, and it makes use of PCM samples.
Say whatever you will about Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, but it has a phenomenal synth-rock soundtrack. The battle themes are some of the best I've ever heard in a JRPG, so I thought I'd take a shot at an 8-bit rendition of the song from the fight with the Dark King.
No better way to kill a harbinger of the apocalypse than with a load of synthesized electric guitar, right?
The background video was recorded from the fight with Chaos in the original Final Fantasy. If anyone is interested in the .nsf file that I recorded this from (I loaded it onto a PowerPak), you can find it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1btlRd0yki2bbw0L_mrWye2j8pdWfbpIw/view?usp=sharing
Any up-to-date NSF player should handle it just fine.
I hope you all enjoy the arrangement!
