64Oh, this one was FULL of tangents. But they're tangents about language and culture and people, which are my favorite kinds of tangents! Compared to recent streams that have gone to very uncomfortable places and exhausted me emotionally, this stream was right in my happy place! I tried to mark the tangents where they happen in case you want to skip them, but c'mon, we all know you are here for my real-life Rhetoric and Encyclopedia tendencies by now, right? (Side dose of Empathy, but that was less of a thing this particular stream.
I don't know that Plaisance is right about there being a curse, but I'm enjoying everything about the Doomed Commercial Area (I doubt that was the original name but I bet that's the original acronym, that's how these things work, I should go check outside after this). I really feel like the bookstore and everything related to the bookstore is EXACTLY FOR LAURENS. First deconstructing Plaisance's traumatic life experiences to help her break the cycle of abuse with her own daughter, and then this whole area? Chef's kiss. I am pleased.
ETA: I couldn't remember what this was called so I called it "Cursed Retail Area" and Crono informed me of the right name ("Doomed Commercial Area") and then started suggesting alternatives, so, you know what to do — if you've read this far in my description, please offer up your own three-word synonymous phrases for this Bewitched Mercantile Area, and I guess we'll start next week reading some of them.
