Paul Franzen and Michael Gray play through Law & Order: Legacies: Episode 1. The game starts off with the murder of Rachael Trevino, a hotel maid. Rey Curtis teams up with Olivia Benson to investigate. Rey interviews another maid, and they search the crime scene for clues. The biggest clue is a cell phone that the victim used constantly.

The voicemails on the phone are deleted, by the time the detectives reach the precinct. They go to the phone company, where they learn that one of their independent contractors has gone rogue and started hacking voicemail accounts. The detectives meet with this hacker, who quickly succumbs to the classic good cop/bad cop routine.

The hacker sold Rachael's voicemail password--and the passwords of many other people--to Gwendolyn Scott. After questioning, she admits that Russian billionaire Alexander Baran wanted the passwords. Baran is a sexual predator, and evidence shows that he is the culprit.

Shortly after the trial begins, Baran is shot and killed by the victim's father. The father is then put on trial for manslaughter, while the defense argues that he should get a reduced sentence, because he suffers from PTSD. There are three witnesses: Detective Benson, the defendant's son and the defendant. The witnesses are examined and cross-examined.
