This video shows just 1 of the many differences between the Arcade mode and Saturn mode on the Saturn version of Layer Section (also known as Ray Storm / Galactic Attack). The Arcade mode is how it should be, arcade perfect running in "TATE" mode which means you need to stand your TV vertically. The Saturn mode was a mode to be played on a normal TV. While the game is still a vertical shooter the image has been resized to fit a normal TV resulting in black bars down the sides of the image. The plus point is that you don't need to tip your TV on it's side.

Here's the problem. The Saturn mode is missing many graphical effects found in the Arcade mode. This video shows just one of those. In the Arcade mode you'll see some beautiful multi parallax scrolling as the ship dives in to the planet. In the Saturn mode the beautiful parallax scrolling is replaced with plain old dull 3 level scrolling. Why in the question I have? It's certainly not a technical issue of the Saturn since it pulls of the effect just fine in Arcade mode.
