Lazy Squire Games: Ho- Tem Ra from Stormsunder, painted!
I tend to follow a fair amount of kickstarters. Sometimes I even back them if they pass my peculiar standards. Lazy Squire Games' Wild Assent really got my attention (plus I am a sucker for the Prodos/ Archon unicast models).
When I heard they had another game coming, I was intrigued.
I reached out to Lazy Squire and got the opportunity to paint up one of their prototypes of one of the boss models from the core game, Ho-Tem Ra.
He's quite big and intimidating, especially from a painting perspective. There's a lot going on with him. I'm still not sure what the tendrils are coming off the ground towards him.
I'm pretty sure I didn't follow any official paint scheme (as I don't think there was even any art released at the time), but I tried to come up with something that was easily achievable with just a bit of effort. I may or may not have been channeling a bit of Thousand Sons with the color scheme...
I stuck mainly to Vallejo game colors, with a jar of good ol' Agrax Earthshade from GW to make things nice and shaded.
I also got a sample of some scenery bits to take a go at.
Considering just how many models are included in the base game alone (never mind the even crazier amounts in the expansions) I think there's a lot here to check out, especially if you're in the market for some Egyptian themed models.
I'd like to get a good look at the hero models along with the grunt type minion baddies- if they're comparable to other models out there I bet they'd go great in some of the Egyptian themed armies or skirmish warbands out there!
Here's a link to the kickstarter if you're interested in it-
