Learn 3 classic children’s lullabies in this beginner friendly ukulele lesson: “Mary Had a Little Lamb”, “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”, and “Brahm’s Lullaby”. All 3 of these arrangements are written in the key of G major. But, it’s important to note each is written in a different time signature:

“Mary Had a Little Lamb” – 4/4
“Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” – 2/4
“Brahm’s Lullaby” – 3/4

In the lesson videos, we will be highlighting how to count each piece to reflect the different time signatures. Check out this lesson (link below) if you are new to understanding time signatures and rhythmic notation.

Our first arrangement is “Mary Had a Little Lamb”. This piece is the easiest of the three, with the only tricky part being the syncopated (hitting off the beat) rhythmic hit in the 1st and 5th bar. In the part 1 lesson video, we’ll explain this rhythmic hit in detail (dotted quarter note) and learn how to count it.

Our second arrangement is “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”. This piece is a little bit harder as it contains some stretch chords. If you are new to playing stretch chords, check out this lesson (link below). Our third arrangement is “Brahm’s Lullaby”. This piece is a noticeable step up in difficulty and could be labeled as an intermediate level tune. This is a great piece for working on developing finger strength in barre chords and becoming accustomed to playing throughout the span of the neck.
