How to Access and Open an Image

Opening a file is really simple and straightforward. It allows you to access and edit images in Photoshop whether they are new or previously edited.
1. Click on File -- Open in the top menu.bar. You can also open an image by pressing Ctrl+O (Command+O for Mac) on your keyboard. The PC and Mac options may look different, but essentially the way you find a file is the same, as with most other programs.
2. The Photoshop-exclusive options are below.
1. 3. Enable allows you to specify the type of file you can import. Generally, you keep this option to All Readable Documents.
2. 4. Format will favor the type of picture you are searching for in any particular folder so you can find it easier.
3. 5. Image Sequence, when checked, will open a series of images into one file. Generally, this is helpful if you have to edit a series of frames or a video. Making a "light saber" frame for frame is a good example.
