Blizzard has recently made changes to the drop rate of Fyr’alath, the Dream Render, a legendary weapon in World of Warcraft. The changes were announced in a forum post by Kaivax, a community manager at Blizzard1.
The changes include a significant increase in the effect of all Embers of Fyr’alath, which serve as a “bad luck protection” item in the game1. This increase is retroactive and applies to all players, regardless of whether they have consumed any Embers they may have12.
The changes were made in response to feedback from players who were frustrated with not being able to obtain Fyr’alath despite clearing the Amirdrassil raid on Heroic difficulty weekly1.
According to data discovered by fans, if the data is accurate, Fyr’alath will now have a 100% drop rate on the 7th Mythic or 15th Heroic Fyrakk kill2. This suggests that the increase in the drop rate is quite significant.
