LEGO Bricktopia is a simple Breakout-style action game inspired by the popular LEGO construction toy. Using the mouse, the player controls a paddle at the bottom of the screen which is used to deflect a ball into walls of bricks to destroy them. The player starts with several balls. If all balls are lost by failing to deflect them, the game is over.

This take on Breakout, however, has a gimmick in that some blocks will simply fall instead of being destroyed and can be stacked onto the paddle in typical LEGO fashion. Once three bricks have been stored on the paddle, the player can right click to exchange the bricks for an extra shield. Shields occupy the bottom of the screen and prevent balls from being lost, but will disappear once touched. Left-clicking on a ball when it is touching the paddle will deflect it with greater force. There are over 160 levels and a total of 20 power-ups that can be collected for a variety of effects.
