Lessons From the Multiverse: The Swinging Pendulum of Comics
10Hey guys I'm here with another Comics Lesson...and I admit it's another more Real World one.
I've been seeing a lot of people these days claiming that the Mainstream Heroes are DEAD! There is no coming back! They are all ruined and made WOKE...when that's not exactly the case!
Now I can't speak for everyone (aside from a few I'm sure have their own ulterior motives for pushing that narrative) but if anyone else has kept an eye on books lately...Marvel is improving ever slowly and DC has still had good titles consistently for the past few years! Yes, there are a few books that are still political but not as bad as it has been.
Spider-Man has improved! The Flash is still good! The Black Label books are consistently well done! Mary Jane and Gwenpools books were surprisingly decent! Etc etc! Now is it perfect? No of course not! But the pendulum us slowly swinging back
Why? Well here's what I'm thinking. It wasn't directly caused by CG...not exactly. The Creators, over the past few years, started pushing their politics harder and harder (Many might be due to CG riling them up) and it started to drive more people away from the books.
This has caused the Companies to want to improve things at Marvel! And while DC is taking some pointers, sadly, from the competition...it's not going all in (And guys, 5G is gonna be a short term event, nothing permanent). So eventually things will get better.
That's all I have to say, I have hope and faith in the industry...I just wish it would speed up that's all
