Another PS2 longplay! This time, a game that is so hated and so poorly made, i'm positive the show made fun of their own game! ...hopefully.

Celebrity Deathmatch is a stopmotion show from MTV where cartoony versions of celebrities fight to the death in a ring. This game basically does exactly that, but sadly isn't as funny or great as the show. The game was created by Big Ape Productions and published by Gotham Games. This game was pretty much extremely hated and it's obvious why: This game is boring and poorly made.

The fighting is pretty generic, some celebrities are better to fight as compared to others, the jokes are weak, you'll never use the celebrity creator unless you really gave a damn about the game and the final 2 characters you unlock after "perfecting" all episodes... you will most likely never use, as you only need to complete the episodes to complete the game. There are 7 episodes, each one can have it's characters swapped so you can play as anyone. I don't swap once because really, it's easy to play this game with any of them as long as you know how to fight. And sadly, the controls suck.

Sometimes when you want to do a grab move, it doesn't fucking do it. And you'll see that happen in some fights where i press the grab button and it doesn't do dick. You also have a special ability bar which is the MTV logo. When it's full, pressing the R2 button will unleash that celebrities special ability. Oh btw, in order to fill the bar up faster, YOUR ass will need to be kicked alot. Fighting your opponent actually fills it up slower. Yea. It's bullshit and i barely ever use the special abilities.

This video is over an hour, yes. But remember, this is LET'S COMPLETE IN UNDER AN HOUR. Not LET'S HAVE THIS VIDEO BE UNDER AN HOUR. To complete the game, all episodes must be perfect and all characters and arenas must be unlocked. I do, indeed, complete this game in under an hour.

Btw, there's a PS1 version of this game. Not even joking. I don't know WHY they made a PS1 version but it shows that this game fits more for the PS1. However, the PS1 version is actually WORSE than the PS2, which is why i did this version. And the PC and Xbox versions are barely different to the PS2 one, so don't ask me to do that one.

As for the publisher and developer, Gotham Games was a part of Take-Two Interactive and died in 2004, while Big Ape made such great games such as Herc's Adventures (which is decent), Star Wars Episode 1 for Playstation, PC and Mac (which is also decent) and, 2 years before this game... Simpsons Wrestling. Yes. This game was made by the same people who made Simpsons Wrestling. BTW, THIS GAME WAS THEIR LAST! AMAZING.
