While you will be hit by decently dangerous attacks of various elements here from time to time, the real challenge lies in not losing track which of your characters have occult buffs. They typically seem to be awarded to those characters with fairly decent defenses, but regardless who has them, you might want to switch them out before the action of the boss even if you would normally like to leave them in. A lot of flexibility in your tactics is therefore rewarded.
Both Kanako and Suwako can play to their strengths against this boss. The native goddesses joined me the first time I returned to base from this fifth floor and their recruitment is actually a condition to reach this boss. Perhaps you're just not supposed to rush through to the finish line in one dungeon delve?
A minor correction: The threshold for the hopefully cut-short phase 2 lies at 8,100 hp. You should leave some distance to it anyway, as unintentionally undershooting it with the wrong timing is one of the biggest mistakes you could make here.
When this series eventually returns, I promise I will drop the "Goober" gimmick. At some point, we would only be beating a dead Saki.
