LET'S GIVE IT A CRACK | Let's Plat Octopath Traveler 2 - Part 15
We are one Chapter 3 story away from reaching the end point for some travelers. Starting to notice the bosses require more items and are getting more turns and attacks that cover the entire party more often. The next Chapter 3 story will be telling in terms of how we can do underleveled.
Trophy/Achievement Timestamps
5:52:58 - Hard Hitter Trophy/Achievement - In order to deal 9999 or more damage you need your character to be at a high enough level so that they can have a higher natural attack stat regardless of what you choose to use. Any traveler can reach the required damage amount but each will require a different setup in order to do it correctly. If you choose Agnea you can get this as early as Chapter 1 if you unlocked the Bewildering Grace skill and used it at MAX boost however this is a random effect skill that can provide any sort of function available in the game. Think of it like Metronome so while I would not recommend it you can try it to see if it works. There are many different ways that you will be able to achieve enough damage however there is one Job that will naturally make things easier for you and also provides a better way to get it based on other skills as well. Hikari begins with the Warrior Job and naturally this also means you will probably have made enough progress with him to level him up as you go. Along with this leveling the Warrior job and gaining access to the new skills will allow you to learn the Deal More Damage Support Skill that will break the damage limit and allow you to go beyond the 9999 damage threshold making things even easier. To go along with this you may need to increase your stats further using different weapons and accessories that you will naturally find or purchase throughout the game. The weapons themselves provide a significant boost usually to multiple stats related to attacking which is where most of your damage will come from. In terms of accessories you can obtain a Mighty Belt by stealing or mugging the Factory Worker in Clockbank which will increase your Physical Attack by 50 and throughout there will be several accessories that increase your Critical. If necessary you can also increase stats using the Nut items along with equipping a secondary job if you have one. Now you need to find someone that you won't be able to kill in one strike as you will want to break them for extra damage. By the point in the game that I was up to anything lower than a Challenge level of 3 would be too much of a risk however you might get lucky with a break. Keep in mind that the lower the level the better chance you have to inflict more damage due to less defense. Once you have found an NPC you still need to ensure they have a weakness to Sword attacks as that will do additional damage especially when they have been broken as well. Typically the level of the NPC also equates to how many Shield Points they will end up having and also the amount of weaknesses they may have. Quite a lot of the NPCs early on will be exploitable to the more basic attacks as well. It is better to Challenge with Hikari rather than finding enemies in a random encounter. That way you can take things at your own pace and don't need to worry about contending with extra turns and multiple enemies. When it comes to the actual battle I ended up doing a MAX boosted Tenretsuzan which will require the use of Hikari's Latent Power granting him access to this unique ability through the Shadow's Hold. This attack is the most powerful Sword attack available to Hikari. If you still don't think that this will be enough you can also use the Abide skill to boost your physical attack however you need to do this before you choose to break so that you have enough time to then break and perform the correct skills. When you have dealt 9999 or more damage you will unlock this trophy/achievement.
