This game is a Turn Based Civilization Builder with Grand Strategy Game mechanics similar to Sid Meier's Civilization and the Civilization Series by Firaxis Games. Thank you Xbox Game Studios and Oxide Games for the Premium Edition Game Key.
You build a nation from a small settlement and write your own history based on your progress and actions. You start off by choosing a leader and then you make choices on how you want to develop your civilization. The game does not use any hex base system like civilization. You can claim territories (called "Regions" that have variable "Zones" within them between 2-5) for your city when your population reaches the next population tier. Each population tier increases your city level. Regions with high zones are more valuable because you can place "Improvements" in them. Each Region also has variable base resources that you will gain. Placing Improvements in the zone can increase the base yield. The concept of the Zones is like modules (or slots or sockets) in which you can place enhancements in them. Some of the "Improvements" buildings (such as the ones that can craft or harvest) can be further enhanced with "Supplies" slots. Craft various items in the game to be used in Improvement buildings or as consumables. Your goal in the game is to get as much Prestige as possible. This can be done by building "Triumphs" (Similar to Wonders in Civilization game or Age of Empire) that rewards Prestige or certain "Improvements". Act goals can also give Prestige if you claim them first. The game plays out in various Acts that eliminates Nations that are not memorable (Nations with low Prestige) at the end of each Acts. This is done by ranking Nations by Prestige. You'll also need to build up an army to defend your city or attack other cities (Pillage, Assimilate, or Raze). The Tutorial is a bit wonky and has some issues. Overall, I really enjoyed this game a lot and highly recommend it. This game has that "Just One More Turn" vibe that makes it very addictive.
