In this Let's Play video, you will see me play EcoGnomix (Full Release). This game is a roguelite Strategy Turn Based underground cave exploration Dungeon Crawler with Gnomes. There is a city builder aspect to the game that is more or less a base builder producing resources used to upgrade the exploration expedition. This game is more like "Drill Core" in many ways in which you need to recruit Gnomes that have different jobs/tasks. And the Base Building mechanic on the surface is just production buildings. There is a "Knowledge Book" that you use resources produced to upgrade. This is the roguelite meta progression mechanic. There are multiple biomes in the game to explore but you'll need to unlock them in order of progression. In the Leafy Hollows Biome (the first biome), you go underground to gather wood and other resources to bring back to the surface to build up your Gnome Town. You'll need to also collect food to feed the bats or your exploration expedition ends. Hire gnomes along the way (using Wood as the currency) to gather/produce the needed resources. The goal is to reach the boss rooms and defeat the bosses for the loot drops. After each run (caving/spelunking), you can spend the resources earned on building up your town. The cave exploration part of the game has a turn based tactics element to it, which requires some planning and strategies. There is a total of 7 actions in each turn which is played out like an auto battler. At the end of each turn you must feed the bats with the food you gathered or cooked. Don't stay too long on a level because the number of bats increase. The strategy is to position your various Gnomes to perform their actions when you hit the End Turn button. The resources are gathered first before feeding the bats. This game has a very enjoyable game loop with various interesting challenges and strategies. It has that "Just One More Turn" and "One more Run" elements that keeps you addicted and hooked. I highly recommend checking this game out.
