Let's Play Armello 24: Thane of Ill Fortune
There are many ways to gain rot in the game. Dungeons give you a chance of encountering banes and dying to them will give you rot. Certain items when equipped also give you rot as well as casting some spells or failing to overcome some perils. Certain quests have gaining rot as a consequence of failure and there is a single kings decree that gives all heroes one rot. There is also the spoil amulet, only accessible once you've achieved a rot victory that means you start with two course, once you are corrupted you can gain rot through quests and by killing banes who are not longer hostile but also no longer give prestige when you kill them.
When corrupted you need to constantly be working to gain more rot and kill enemies so you can restore health to offset the health lost each dawn. Stone circles kill you so apart from items or the dusk amulet combat is the only reliable method of regaining health.
Of course to kill banes and gain lots of corruption and eventually kill the king you need good items and decent stats. And naturally gaining rot, stats and items can be disrupted by circumstance and the other heroes killing you.
Why do I get the feeling Thane hasn't quite shaken off all that bad luck he's been having in my videos yet?
This video was recorded at a different resolution then previous and in windowed mode in an effort to overcome a problem where the game has been crashing. At the time of uploading this I haven't found out exactly why the game is crashing but I am working with the developers QA to get the bottom of it. I have a theory that I will be testing out in the next match.
This video was recorded when I wasn't entirely feeling 100% so my voice may be a little strained.
