Let's Play Armikrog - Part 1 - An Unknown Fortress and a Lone Baby
It's been a while since my last Point n Click Let's Play so here's a game made by the same team who gave us the classic PnC game The Neverhood and its PS1 exclusive 2D platformer sequel Skull Monkeys. This game got really mixed reception due to its awkward interface, puzzle tedium, & glitches, but I'm willing to give it a chance. The story goes that the people of planet Ixen are facing extinction due to running out of their most precious power source known as P-tonium crystals. To get more, they sent their three most bravest astronauts, Vognaut, Numnaut, and Tommynaut, to Spiro 5. Vognaut and Numnaut fell to a terrible fate leaving our protagonist Tommynaut and his sidekick dog-thing Beak-Beak the only ones left to complete the mission. Their ship runs into trouble and crash lands on Spiro 5. Exiting the wreckage, the two are attacked by the vicious fauna on the planet. They barely escape by taking refuge in an unknown fortress filled with complex puzzles. What is this place? Why is it here? To gain access to these answers, Tommy and Beak-Beak must solve the puzzles within and restore its power. A spirit of an old wise-man known as The Father offers helpful hints. A Presid-Ant gives the solution to a puzzle we won't encounter for a while. A strange ceiling octopus reveals some backstory in gibberish that will have to be translated later. Parts of this fortress are damaged and whatever happened here, Vognaut was involved. In the wreckage of one room, a lone infant is found. Her name is P. Upon exiting, P starts to cry so Tommy tries to calm her down. After she calms down, she coughs up a P-tonium crystal. She just became the hope to save Tommynaut's people, but first he must figure this place out and get a new ship.
