And so, Gromnir Il-Khan has been proven right all along. Melissan had in fact been scheming to only get all the bhaalspawn killed and, to that end, manipulated both the Five and us to see this done. Now few bhaalspawn remain; there’s Terri and Veikang and it’s quite likely that Imoen is still alive along with a few nameless bhaalspawn in the farthest reaches of the realms but compared to how many there had been, that’s a scant few. Amelyssan – Bhaal’s most trusted priest who was given the task of colleting the bhaalspawn essence so he could be resurrected – has her own plans on divinity that will steal away our destiny and potential divinity.

This cannot stand.

Though the game urges you to progress quickly towards the final battle, you have time to make your preparations and compete quests as you see fit. If you haven’t completed Watcher’s Keep or finished the few side quests the expansion has, now is your opportunity to do them. It’s also the last chance you have to upgrade your equipment from Cespenar, someone I’ll dearly miss when we destroy this pocket plane. The solar told us it was the only way to reach the Throne of Bhaal where Amelyssan is drawing the bhaalspawn essence into herself but to do that, we must face the final challenge room which contains a difficult battle indeed. It’s nowhere near as difficult as facing Amelyssan herself, however.

Are we ready? Once we head to the Throne of Bhaal there’s no going back outside of loading a save, so we’d better be.
