Let’s Play Ravenloft Strahd’s Possession #19: That Which Rattles in the Deep
238This is my first playthrough through this game. Kindly avoid posting spoilers in the comments or solutions to puzzles either in this video or future ones so as not to spoil the experience for me or those that haven’t seen the game before.
Skeletons can be a significant threat to a low level group of adventurers or those caught by surprise, for they are often many in number and incapable of fear. Our group have little trouble with them, however, smashing them into pieces and returning them to their eternal rest. They along with the single lightning bolt trap have been the only perils encountered within the caverns beneath of Ivlis up until now but there’s something far, far more dangerous within this place and it’s capable of ripping our party to pieces quite quickly.
For bigger threats we need to pull out our more powerful spells and, if needed, our consumable resources. Up to this point the game has been very generous with potions, spare scrolls and even wands, telling us in no uncertain terms that we should be using them all to deal with the threats we come across as we search for a way home and lord Dhelt’s amulet. Of course, I’ll try and make sure I don’t need to dip into our consumables as much as possible; why use a wand of fireballs if we can use the fireball spells we have prepared and then rest after the battle? There will come a time, however, where I’ll have no choice but to use them and it’s my hope that I’ll recognise that time when it comes.
