Let's Play Binary Domain [1-1] - Seek And Destroy
First video in my Let's Play series for Binary Domain, an OTS shooter from Sega.\n\nThe first chapter is quite short compared to the others, but it lets you familiarize yourself with the controls and lays out the main plot points along the way. You only have one partner during Chapter 1, which helps to acclimate the player to the squad system and also makes sense within the context of the story.\n\nAs shooters go, I think Binary Domain has a nice balance going for it. Some of the plot points aren't the most sophisticated in the world, but not everything has to be. Squad selection has a nice range of options for different play styles. The command controls are available from the start, even though the game doesn't explain them until 1-2. You don't really need them this early, but it's nice that they didn't feel the need to lock that functionality until then.\n\nAll in all, while I doubt it's going to spark any revolutions, the gameplay is solid, the story is entertaining, and most importantly the cutscenes don't feel the need to interrupt the robot-shooting fun for too long at a time. If you like what you see in these first few videos, I'd definitely suggest you give it a try. While it probably won't win Game of the Year, you could do a lot worse than Binary Domain.
