Let's Play Bomberman 64 (Multiplayer) - 4 Player Battle Mode - Part 1 -
Let's Play Bomberman 64 Battle Mode! 4 Player Battle Mode Part 1! We've got 4 players ready to bomb the crap out of eachother in this fun frantic multiplayer game! Bomberman 64 Multiplayer Gameplay is fantastic. So hectic and competitive as hell! I really wish they would rerelease this game in HD in 60fps. That would be amazing.
The battle mode in Bomberman 64 has you laying bombs, kicking bombs, picking them up, pumping them up to enlarge them, and collecting power ups! Power ups include a bomb power up that allows you to lay more bombs, a fire power up that increases your blast radius, curses, that do all sort of (usually) bad stuff, and a purple devil that causes a curse on everyone, or a stage hazard! There's also a pink bomb upgrade that causes huge blast radiuses. I call them nukes. When Bomberman takes damage, he dies. If he has a "heart" power-up when he's hit, he will survive, but he will lose the heart. When he dies, all power-ups he obtained will scatter all over the place. In the Normal single-player mode, taking damage simply causes Bomberman to drop the heart, and if it doesn't bounce off the level, he can pick it up again to survive another hit. In the Hard mode, the heart will simply disappear.
The main game contains the following worlds: Green Garden, Blue Resort, Red Mountain, White Glacier, Black Fortress, and Rainbow Palace.
The Battle Mode contains the following stages:
Rock Garden, Up and Down, Pyramid, Greedy Trap, Top Rules, Field Of Grass, In the Gutter, Sea Sick, Blizzard Battle, and Lost at Sea.
I enjoyed the single player side of Bomberman 64 growing up but found it very challenging. Maybe one day we will Let's Play Bomberman 64 on the channel? I'd enjoy doing an actual walkthrough for sure since I was never able to complete it.
Here's some extra information about Bomberman 64 for anyone intersted in the game:
Bomberman 64, known in Japan as Baku Bomberman is a video game developed by Hudson Soft and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. The game was released in Europe on November 27, 1997 and released in North America three days later. The game is rated K-A by the ESRB.
Bomberman 64 is the first 3-D game within the Bomberman series. It also implements a different single-player mode by incorporating action-adventure and platforming stages, instead of arenas in which enemies or other elements must be destroyed. The game has spawned two sequels on the N64: Bomberman Hero (1998) and Bomberman 64: The Second Attack (2000).
I won't get too into the story mode right now though, since we're not covering it at this time!
