0Before we can take back Sanctuary, we'll need an antidote so the gas doesn't mutate us. Tannis would rather create an army of plant mutants of our very own. An antidote would be better so we need to collect samples to study from infect flowers and infected bandit brains. We learn that Pandora has been producing spores all this time and they all end up in our lungs. The spores are benign at first until Hector's Paradise Gas gives them the ability to mutate their hosts into the plant mutants we're fighting now. The gas itself becomes a new game mechanic. Standing in it gives our attack more power, but an infection meter starts up. If it completely fills up, we start taking damage if we stay inside the gas. After we've collected the samples, we check over at Crazy Earl's new home for a side mission. Marcus has become Crazy Earl's new roommate and would like us to gather some food. As gather a few canned pizzas, we listen to Marcus and Crazy Earl bicker and argue. After delivering the food, Marcus wants us to get him a rocket launcher for protection, but Crazy Earl wants us to smash one of his weapon vending machines to get him out so he can have his privacy back. We head back to camp, get the brains scanned, and then Lilith shows up having used up the last of her Eridium, but brought what survivors and refugees she could. Mordecai ECHOs in that he's found a way back to Sanctuary then suddenly Hector launches an attack invasion.
