8Tinkering should be pretty cool once I start collecting (or buying) data disks. It has the potential to be really powerful, based on the kinds of grenades you can make, like MK III high explosives. REAL POWER.
I do wonder, however, how much sense it makes to diverge from the "quest path". For instance, could you just go running around and eventually stumble upon the game's objective, or is it better to work on some fetch quests (albeit superior to the typicall riff-raff) until you learn what you're supposed to do. It's a different style from most roguelikes, whose objective is either obvious or irrelevant. Maybe this game's objective is irrelevant, too! I need to stop getting ahead of myself.
