Let's Play Crusader Kings II 76: Reuniting the Empire
While some of the regions that were involved in the independence faction were not originally part of the empire and thus are effectively lost to us, many of them are part of the empires de jure. This means that provided I get the respective rulers of the newly independent regions to like me enough they'll accept an offer to rejoin the empire and I can undo much of the fracturing that was caused by that faction.
Sadly the second faction is a lot more difficult to deal with - I need high crown authority to be able to change the line of succession and it's very unlikely I'll be ruling the empire two rulers down the line, presuming that I'm even able to increase the crown authority laws at all.
