In this Let's Play video, you will see me play Darfall (Steam Next Fest). This game is a real time strategy survival city builder (colony sim) with some Tower Defense like mechanics. In this episode, I will be covering the new melee Hero Kalen, the Slayer. The demo got updated with the new Hero for the Real Time Strategy Steam Festival. This game focuses on a Hero that you can control with some RPG elements. This game is somewhat similar to "Warcraft 2", "Starcraft 2", "Gord", and "Cataclismo", where the Hero has specific talents (skills) and upgrades (perks) that you can evolve. In this game, the Hero can actually gather resources like chop trees and mine stone, collect resources and other loot from mobs and treasure chests and then drop them off at the Castle. Your Hero can also salvage any extra loot found. Similar to Gord, at night you will need to create light source for your workers to work efficiently. Explore the map, collect and gather resources during the day and defend against monsters at night. The defense waves with monster attacks are similar to ones in "Age of Darkness: Final Stand", "They Are Billions" and "Diplomacy Is Not an Option". Like other City Builder games, Wood and Stones are needed. You'll need to further process Wood and Stone to create more advance items and craft weapons to recruit other units to build an army to help defend and explore the map. Food is essential to maintaining your population. How many days can you survive is the main goal of the game. I definitely recommend this game. I really enjoyed the survival challenges. The demo is procedurally generated and has a lot of replay value. Check out the DEMO for yourself and Wishlist it!
