Let's Play Doom 64 - Part 3 - The Terraformer
32The second map in Doom 64 is the Terraformer - a level so dark, that is is occasionally and literally pure black (like the red triangle hallway). We get a few new items, but no new enemies. The backpack, for instance, doubles the maximum of ammo the Doom Guy can store for all of his weapons. The most important part of this is the ability to hold 100 shells, which is quite a lot!
Video Note: The brightness, gamma and contrast in this video have been tweaked quite a bit to provide a more watchable experience. "But," you say, "it' still hard to see!" And to that I say, yes, the level itself is actually that dark in game. For map 4 and on, I will try some different capture settings!
