Gears of War is a third-person shooter developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios in 2006 for the Xbox 360. It was ported to Windows PC by People Can Fly in 2007. It was subsequently remastered as Gears of War: Ultimate Edition by The Coalition for Xbox One in 2015 and Windows in 2016. The 2007 PC release is played here.

Gears of War focuses on a small group of soldiers attempting to activate a device that will map the underground tunnels used by The Locust, humanity's archnemesis on the planet Sera. This intelligence will allow for a bomb to be launched into the tunnels in a final, desperate attempt to save humanity from annihilation.
