In this video, you will see me play the Prologue for Guards II: Chaos in Hell (Steam Next Fest). This game is a Roguelite Tactical Turn Based Strategy RPG in a Dark Fantasy world adventuring in Hell. This game plays some what like the game "Plants vs Zombies" and "None Shall Intrude" where your characters are limited to the 2 columns in the far left (back line and front line) and Monsters appear from the far right advancing towards your Heroes (to the left). The Frontline characters can fight, while the Backline characters heal themselves. Swap two characters around and all characters resolves their turn action. Moving characters from the Back line to the Front line triggers their Power Abilities. Moving characters between rows triggers their default attack actions. Each character has different attack ranges and damage types which you need to consider. There are 4 different damage types and resistances. You'll need to pay attention to the enemies resistances to maximize your row placements. After each Zone mission, you will earn Eternal Essence that you can use to upgrade your Heroes. Guards 2: Chaos in Hell has some similar game mechanics and themes found in Darkest Dungeon, Legend of Keepers, Iratus: Lord of the Dead, Deck of Souls, None Shall Intrude, The Last Spell, Escape from the Mad Empire, Demeo, WarTile, and Plants vs Zombies. This game is very fun to play and I recommend checking it out.
