For a boss battle, this one has all the criteria that makes it difficult. First, there's a time limit which has an incentive for you to reach the boss before it ends. This forces you to perform a tricky balancing act between rushing to the boss and gearing up. Secondly, the boss itself has a lot of really nasty cards and a good mixture to boot, meaning you can't focus on just one of the defensive types. Third and finally, the enemies you need to fight to get to the higher levels are quite tricky, especially if you're rushing to reach the boss.

All in all, it's a very difficult fight worthy of it's place late in the expansion. It might take a few tries to defeat but failure happens in the Guild of Dungeoneering; to deny it would be to deny the game itself.
