Let's Play Half-Life Blue Shift 01: Training Mission
Out of the original game and the three expansions, the only one I have not played until now is Blue Shift, the standalone game that was originally designed as part of the cancelled Dreamcast version of Half Life. It's been a truly long time since I have played anything of the first Half Life which at the time was a revolutionary game that for some was the first major FPS that they were exposed to. For me it came a significant period after I had played games like Doom II over and over but still greatly impressed me with how it played and looked.
If Blue Shift is going to be able to stand up alone to my memories of the original after all this time is something I am going to find out. For now, let's do the training mission so we can become familiar with the games controls before we head into it proper.
The first nine videos of this Let's Play were recorded in advance with a slight difference in my volume compared to the audio of the game. The game lacks an individual dialogue volume slider and has no subtitle option. Added onto that is the fact that some of the voice acting in the game is not probably balanced to the rest of the sound in-game, a part of the game rather then anything from the recording process. The tenth video and onwards will have the audio tweaked so that it is a little better.
