Tarnum picks up some local units, and could possibly either capture the next Blue Wizard castle or defeat the next Blue hero, but not both - so he "strategically redeploys" back to the first Wizard town to take on reinforcements fetched by the garrison heroes of the castles he captured earlier. (As he remarks in a text screen, it's not that hard to recruit Bracaduun troops -- if you hold their families hostage. (Yikes!)) He'll want to fetch reinforcements quickly, though, so the Blue forces don't come sniffing around his existing castles when they're weakened from sending Tarnum the reinforcements!
