Let's Play Hocus Pocus 21: Trolodon
145I'm quite surprised that I managed to forget the name of a final villain such as Trolodon. A dangerous threat to the wizard council and the safety of all the paths - well, dangerous by the wizard council's standards - it's up to Hocus Pocus alone to defeat the evil sorcerer and prove once and for all that he's worthy of sitting with the other wizards in the council. Can Hocus defeat Trolodon? Will he finally get the recognition he deserves?
And will Terexin ever explain why he hates Hocus Pocus so much?
Hocus Pocus is a game I've really enjoyed going back to. The game evoked many memories from my childhood and I believe that while the game has aged quite well in some ways, in others it definitely betrays the time it was made. The reused assets (monsters, levels aesthetics and music) do get a little repetitive as the levels go on but in the end that doesn't dampen the fact that Hocus Pocus is a solid platformer that for me is still fun even now. It's a game I'd be tempted to play again on the harder difficulty but I get the feeling that I'd have difficulty completing it. All in all, it's a very fun game that I'm glad I returned to and I'm sure that I'll return to again in the future.
So what's next? I have a few ideas. Some of them are older games from the same time period as Hocus Pocus as well as a few platformers from more recent times. The next game might be from a different genre altogether, perhaps something a lot more recent as well. Who knows what the future will hold?
For now, Hocus Pocus deserves a well earned break after saving the world from mad monks, evil trees, multiple dragons and the deadly Trolodon. Let's hope he's never again called upon to save the world from even more terrifying dangers eh?
