I'll be candid: not having the double jump thus far has been rather limiting, both in combat maneuvering and general exploration. Chat helpfully nudges me towards the Ancient Basin, which has the creepy distinction of being nearly monochrome - save for the orange infection goop all over the place. Someone should really do something about that, like perform some kind of ghastly ritual to keep it at bay maybe.

Still, we do find some friendly faces down here, and before long we make our way to the promised upgrade and the boss guarding it. And *boy* is it worth it.
