In this Let's Play video, you will see me play IDUN (Steam Tower Defense Fest). IDUN is a Real Time Strategy Tower Defense game. This game is a slightly unique take on the Tower Defense mechanics allowing you to move your turrets around at will, real time on the fly. You can slide them around and place them where ever you need it on the map. The combat characters can be ordered to move by dragging them to their designated location. The game is presented as campaign with multiple missions with each mission being replayable. Completing missions gives you rewards that unlocks new characters and weapons that you can choose to deploy on missions. You'll earn resources that will allow you to spend on the Research Room screens on the IDUN station. (pro tip: after completing the third mission, there is a research button at the top of the main campaign planet view screen so you don't need to go to IDUN station visiting each rooms.) There are various different mission types with different objectives (mostly survive for a certain amount of time while defending something). It was actually fun playing the different mission types. The Mech Survival mission and the Extractor mission are probably my two favorite ones. Defending the Main Ore Drill was pretty challenging. During the mission, you collect Golden Orbs that let's you choose one of 3 random choices to help you survive. This game reminds me a lot of "The Riftbreaker", "Factorio", and "Starship Troopers: Terrain Command" with the whole Alien Planet thing and alien bugs rushing to attack you. The mission with the Extractor reminds me of "Dune 2" and "Command and Conqueror" with the Harvester collecting ores. Overall, the game is quite fun and challenging to play. I recommend checking out the demo and adding it to your Steam Wishlist.
