KKND2: Krossfire is a real-time strategy game developed by Beam Software and first published by Melbourne House in June 1998 in Germany. It is the sequel to KKND: Krush, Kill 'n' Destroy, released in the year prior.
The game continues where its predecessor left off: the Evolved have to face the Survivors once more after defeating them in the last war, and now both factions also have to deal with Series 9, agricultural robots turned homicidal after the humans destroyed their crops - the whole reasons for their existence.
KKND2: Krossfire retains most of the gameplay features of its predecessor, while making some alterations to the research system and, more importantly, allowing players to assemble custom units. Custom units use various chassis, weapons, and extra parts such as a self-repair module or a radar.
The game also received a port to the PlayStation, which removed the unit customisation system and features a number of alternative maps. KKND2: Krossfire received a more mixed reception than the first game, with reviewers lauding the game's visuals but criticising its pathfinding and lack of inspiration.
