Let's Play Mahou Warrior - #1: Across the Seas and Skies
3Welcome to my blind/first-impressions Let's Play of Mahou Warrior, a freeware 8-bit styled action-platformer shooter by TheSkipper1995 or Delp Labs. The game is in the vein of the Mega Man Classic series, and it shows in term of level design and game structure.
Long ago, in the great land of Eternia, the eight mistresses of magic and their leader Mikka, were the main protectors of this land. Together, no enemy could withstand their might. The only villain that dared to battle them was Esor. Only Mikka could battle her one-on-one, while the rest would be vulnerable to her powers. Many years have passed since her last attempt, and she's taken advantage of this. While Mikka was out training by herself, Esor brainwashed the eight mistresses (who were in separate locations) into performing evil acts. It's now up to Mikka to defeat and bring them back to their senses, and put a stop to Esor's plans.
Even though this game borrows a lot of design elements from the MM Classic franchise, it still solidly stands out on its own and changes up some things. In fact, there are several things I like better about this game compared to TheSkipper1995's MM fangames.
I begin by completing the intro stage, Nemora's (Sky Fortress), and Lily's (Marine Base) stages.
