Top Man's stage is really annoying. There are a lot of single block platforms over deathpits and a lot of surprise spikes underneath ladders and such, and the spinning platforms at the end are a bit glitchy and will sometimes just launch you into the death pit.

Top Man himself, though, is really, really basic and not really weak to anything to the point that it matters. He is a good choice to start the second boss chain instead of the first, because you will probably want the Search Snakes and Rush Jet for dealing with the stage.

As much of a joke that this guy is in the fandom, the Top Spin weapon is probably one of the best weapons in the game. It's just prone to be very, very buggy and you can't predict the energy usage, but it completely nullifies some of the most annoying enemies in the game.
