Light's cruel game against X started here folks, actually requiring you to commit suicide for his own amusement, in order to get the last capsule.
I'm not too sure what the exact requirements are for the capsule appearing, but my best guess is:
a) All other items in the game. This is a no brainer.
b) The 9 lives aren't necessary, but you're going to need them due to requirement c.
c) You need to reach the end of Armadillo's stage at least 5 times, and after that:
d) Reach the end without taking damage in the last gauntlet. This is why you need b), it may take even more attempts to reach him.
As you can see in the video, Light's capsule actually APPEARED at one point, only to vanish because I missed my jump and collided with an enemy.
Light. You are an asshole.
I also assume you need the following:
e) Full Subtanks. I assume this is the case, but Armadillo's stage is the perfect place to fill up anyway.
Light's capsule will eventually appear, but it will take lots of lives to get it to happen, several of the deaths being a requirement. Light. Asshole. Here's evidence.
The Hadouken power up is more useful than the hidden item in X2, it one shots anything in the game bar the final boss. I won't be using it against bosses, but enemies are fair game. :P
