Let's Play Might and Magic 7! Part 6 - Promotion? What for?!
9We start things in Avlee. I had an idea for reaching the last Druid shrine and run with it (literally). Just run for it, and once I get the shrine, cast Water Walk and Feather Fall and jump off a cliff into the ocean. This actually works. Then the trick is finding the person who gave us the quest (they're in Tularean Forest).
We really want to get the rest of the promotions out of the way, though, so after getting some Master skills out of the way (and getting the spells we want from them), it's onward to Bracada for the next one... Red Dwarf Mine and the Archer promotion.
The top floor isn't all that bad, just a little harsh on the SP since Oozes are immune to physical attacks. The bottom floor is the exact opposite; Medusas are immune to all but physical damage, thus magic won't help there. There's two ways to go about the bottom floor: cast Invisibility and just beeline for the engine to replace the belt and hightail it out of there... or rely on Protection From Magic and Stone to Flesh to go around and actually kill the Medusas. We opt for the second. I leave maybe 3 Medusas behind in a chamber that I don't need to actually go in, but clear out the rest, leaving me free and clear to get the job done and get out. We get our promotion for Lushiris!
And now for that which I've wanted to do for quite some time... Monk promotion in the Barrow Downs!
Along the way, Barrow Downs has respawned the map, so I got the chance to test out Turn Undead, which as it turns out works quite well! It's an excellent crowd control spell, letting you concentrate on on just one at a time while the rest try to get as far away from you as possible. This is the strategy I needed all this time for these Barrows!
At the end I claim my headset didn't have a single problem. This turned out not to be the case, but it wasn't as bad as that first time in the previous video.
