Let's Play Might and Magic 7! Part 1 - Suspicious Hunt
6Welcome to a new Let's Play! Concluding Might and Magic 6 made me desire to move forward into the next game, but as usual I procrastinated on that. Finally I made up the poll which concluded on the first of this year of 2024; results of that poll are now revealed at the start of this stream.
The purpose of the poll determined which party I would take. The names of the characters were posed to some friends of mine and these are the results. The party was planned around what skills would be available as well as my own desires for what they would bring to the table.
In this first episode we are introduced to Lord Markham and his scavenger hunt on Emerald Island. We're tasked to bring him some items and if we can find them all, we win the deed to Castle Harmondale and the right to rule and govern the surrounding lands. Of course... one begs the question why he's trying to get rid of it if it's such a sweet deal, right?
Emerald Island is infested with Dragonflies which don't pose a large problem for us. It's also home to a Red Dragon... which DOES pose a large problem, if we were inclined to try to kill it. We do raid its lair for a few items, then get out of there. The Temple of the Moon is also infested with various vermin which again aren't a big problem for us. We do pick a fight with some humans in order to get a second Longbow off of them, netting us a nice ranged weapon upgrade.
Winning the contest, Harmondale is... not all that great. Sure, the town has all the services, including all the elemental and self magic guilds, but the map is also full of Goblins, and those same Goblins have moved into our new castle, too. Gotta clear them all out!
I'm a little behind on making videos for this series... I wanted to have a fairly deep backlog available before I started uploading, but that didn't happen. I'll be running on a razor-thin stockpile until probably sometime in June, but I promise to try not to miss being able to upload simply because I ran out of videos!
