Let's Play Morrowind Max Difficulty - No Mic | Part 24: Kogoruhn & Cavern of the Incarnate
The Let’s Play Continues!
With the faction quests out of the way, we are now solely focused on the completion of the Main Quest. Once Dagoth Ur has been defeated, we will then undergo some ‘training’ and ‘refitting’ before pursuing leads into Mournhold and Solsthiem. But for now … Kogoruhn!
We begin by plundering the dungeon of Kogoruhn. After some … slightly reckless meandering, we take an opportunity to head home first, whip up a decent store of Restore Magic potions, and try again.
Kogoruhn is quite an interesting dungeon, with little side branches, dead adventurers strewn about the place carrying unique artefacts, an ancient waterway system, a side path leading to the banks of Red Mountain (illustrating how the Sixth House manage to invade the stronghold to begin with), and several Dagoth Priests guarding various other treasures.
After plundering the dungeon, we return to the Urshilaku camp, and are tasked with finding the Cavern of the Incarnate via a riddle. Various elements of the riddle can be revealed by visiting the 4 Ashlander camps and talking to their wise women. This is not our first venture in Morrowind, so we quite easily are able to find the ‘teeth of the wind’, and the Cavern from there.
The Cavern contains many fallen Incarnates from past eras, who happily cheer us on & pass us some of their artefacts. Oh, and we also pick up some crappy ring that prompts a monologue from Azura? Apparently it’s meant to be significant; pity we can cast a spell for 10 Magicka that’s several times more powerful and renders it redundant…
Finally, we head back to the Urshilaku camp. Due to our 50+ reputation (from becoming head of our designated factions) throughout the land as ‘that guy who does stuff’, the Archcanon of the Temple has spread the word that he is desperate and calling directly for the Nerevarine’s aid. Which means that we can bypass the fourth and fifth trials (entailing 4 quests for Ashlander camps and 3 quests for the houses), and go straight to trial number 6!
The Let's Play is intended to support a Morrowind Magic System guide that I wrote on Steam.
