Let's Play Morrowind Max Difficulty - No Mic | Part 25: Red Mountain & Dagoth Ur
The Let’s Play Continues!
On the home stretch now. We’ve arrived at Vivec, to see Vivec, about defeating Dagoth Ur once and for all.
We begin by chatting up the deity and collecting Wraithguard, and then head off to Ghostgate for some final advice. The only person of interest really is Wulf; an aspect of Talos, who gives us a lucky coin and peaces out. What a nice man.
The conclusion of Morrowind’s Main Quest is sadly, quite rushed and hollow. There was a lot of potential here: Various factions could’ve joined in waging war against Dagoth and his minions, strongholds could’ve been captured in a sequential order resulting in further reinforcements, Ash Vampires could’ve been systematically removed providing some other benefit such as weakening Dagoth Ur, the list goes on.
Instead, we’re simply tasked with plundering 2 small linear dungeons for Sunder and Keening, and then storming the 3rd linear dungeon of Dagoth Ur, all on our own. Whilst the dungeons are quite difficult to access due to the near impassible terrain of Red Mountain … we’re a Mage with Levitate and Jump. These obstacles mean little at all.
After entering the Heart Chamber, we stroll over to the heart, whack it a few times with various objects, and Dagoth Ur unceremoniously falls into the lava blow, along with the half-completed dweller golem.
A little congratulatory speech and another fairly useless Ring later (at least for us, our belt is effectively the same thing but better), and we are finished with Vvardenfell. Tribunal and Bloodmoon await … but we’ll need to be prepared!
The Let's Play is intended to support a Morrowind Magic System guide that I wrote on Steam.
