Let's play Oblivion 173 + 174: Of Mages and Minotaurs
I made a mistake while rendering this video. Guess what that mistake was. Go on. Guess. Thankfully my internet was on speed or whatever, so I actually managed to upload this. Also weird is that this video is really small; less than 600 MB total.
Anyway, Traven sends us to talk to some red shirt, and once everyone FINALLY gets the hint it HAS hit the fan, things fall apart and it's up to, yes, us to fix this mess, since there's no one else in the Guild that gives enough of a crap to actually do something. Whelp, more power to us. Literally, this time around.
Also, am I really to believe a bunch of EVIL McEVIL people just walked into town, went into the Mage's Guild and blew it up, and then left without anyone knowing and/or caring? The guards did not magically realize that there was a slaughter going on, like they do when I'M the one killing? No one heard anything, like the giant Arbitrary Bookcase Blockade (in)conveniently falling in front of an opening? No one thought to tell countess Narina Carvain about the EVIL cult of EVIL McEVIL that BLEW UP A GUILD HOUSE RIGHT IN HER TOWN hiding a 20 minute hike away from her town and ask her to, you know, send the town guard to kill them?
In answer to all those questions: No. Instead, we must first recover two stolen artefacts before they fall into the hands of the necromancers, taking one to the Arcane University for safekeeping and the other unknown, because keeping it in the AU would put the Imperial City at risk, since the necromancers will come after the artefacts. Seriously, you also never hear from either artefact after this quest again, naturally. After that we would have been send to fetch a random plot item that serves one purpose and will remain in our inventory forever, since it's forever tagged as "essential", and after that we'd have been send to fight the King of Worms. Alone. Of course with only one plot coupon, sending more than one individual would be hazardous, right? Yes, except that plot coupon serves no purpose what-so-ever. It's SAID to do something, but you can literally just leave it behind and never hear from it again. Just as well because it's suppose to protect you from a spell that will work anyway, with or without the coupon.
Lastly? You need a key to open the door to Echo Cave and cannot enter without; Mage powerful enough to apparently kill this ancient enemy of the Mage's Guild that destroyed an entire building plus the people in it just because, but Telos forbid you can open a simple wooden door without the proper key. With or without magic and/or a lockpick artefacts literally obtained from a god.
But hey, the trees look pretty. You can jump through them, but they sure look pretty.
