A mage stationed in the Bravil Mage's Guild, the guildhall specialized in Illusion, working on something or another in one of the only inaccessible from the outside castles a mile away from Bravil, would know how to spot an invisible thief, right?

Wrong. Only characters that are scripted to start a conversation, or in the case of OOO's bosses cast some BS overpowered spell, can "see" invisible characters. Makes being a thief MUCH easier, although admittedly if sufficiently powerful targets could just spot invisible characters, the spell itself would fall for the biggest clichΓ© of status effects: It NEVER works on something that actually justifies using it.
